US President Donald Trump criticized NATO allies for their lack of support for the US and Israel's war against Iran, reports "Reuters".
He called the long-time US allies "cowards".
"Without the US, NATO IS A PAPER TIGER!", Trump wrote on social media.
He called on key US allies and others, none of whom were consulted or asked about the war, to help ensure the safety of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
The conflict has rocked global markets, killed thousands and displaced millions since the US-Israeli strikes began on February 28.
Trump complained that NATO countries do not want to join the fight against Iran, yet complain about high oil prices.
"Now that the battle has been WON with very little risk to them, they complain about the high oil prices they are forced to pay, but they do not want to help open the Strait of Hormuz - a simple military maneuver that is the sole cause of high oil prices. So easy for them, with so little risk", he wrote.
"COWARDS, we will REMEMBER!", Trump threatened.
