According to posts on social media and local media, witnesses in Tehran reported several loud explosions early Monday morning as the sun rose over the Iranian capital.

Iran's judiciary-affiliated Mizan news agency also confirmed that there were explosions in Tehran, although it did not immediately provide details on the location or possible targets.

An airstrike hit a radio station in the southern Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas, according to the semi-official Mehr news agency at least one dead.

The head of Iran's state-run Gulf Radio and Television Center in Bandar Abbas confirmed that the city's radio transmitter had been hit.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Monday that they had launched a new wave of "large-scale" strikes on Tehran.

The attack targeted regime infrastructure, the IDF said, without providing further details.

The latest figures from the US-based Human Rights Watch News Agency show that at least 1,407 Iranian civilians, including 214 children, have been killed since the start of the war. Iran's military casualties stand at 1,167, with another 657 deaths listed as unclassified.
