The American planes stationed at Romanian military bases and participating in the Middle East conflict do not fly with explosives or missiles on board, Romanian Defense Minister Radu Miruca said in an interview with B1 TV, BTA reported.

„According to the decision taken by the Romanian Parliament, the planes that were allowed to be stationed at base No. 90 in Otopeni or the base „Mihail Kogalniceanu“ in Constanta County, are not allowed to fly to the Middle East carrying explosives“, he specified on air and stressed that Romania's support for the US is not an offensive operation.

The Romanian Minister of Defense added that the Americans decide where these planes will fly. He also informed that there are currently seven American planes in the country. According to a parliamentary decision, up to 15 planes can be deployed in the country.

On March 11, the Romanian Parliament accepted the request of the United States to temporarily deploy military forces and equipment in the country due to the war in Iran. The first three American tanker planes arrived in Romania on March 15. A day later, on March 16, Iran warned Romania that it would react politically and legally if the country allowed the United States to use bases on its territory for operations against Iran.
