Two men have been detained in connection with the arson of ambulances belonging to the Jewish community in London, reports “Politico“. The suspects are 47 and 45 years old and have been arrested on suspicion of deliberate arson with danger to human life, quoted by News.bg.

They remain in police custody, with law enforcement agencies conducting searches at two addresses in the British capital.

The investigation, led by the counter-terrorism unit, began on Monday after four ambulances were set on fire outside a synagogue in the Golders Green neighborhood in North London. Police are treating the incident as an anti-Semitic hate crime.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned the incident, saying he was "shocked" by the attack.

No one was injured in the incident and the fires were quickly brought under control. However, nearby buildings were evacuated as a precaution.

According to police, CCTV footage suggests at least three people may have been involved in the attack. The investigation is ongoing to identify and arrest all those involved, said Helen Flanagan, head of the London counter-terrorism unit.
