Ukraine launched hundreds of drones against targets in Russia overnight, the Russian Defense Ministry announced today, in what it described as the most massive attack since the start of the war, DPA reported.

A total of 398 long-range drones were intercepted over various Russian regions, the ministry said.

The attacks come a day after Russia launched two massive attacks on Ukraine, in which missiles and a record number of nearly 950 combat drones caused death and destruction.

The successive Ukrainian attacks on Russia are the most massive recorded since the start of the war in February 2022, according to the Russian state news agency TASS, quoted by BTA.

Russian officials confirmed today that a fire broke out at the port of Ust Luga, a key oil and gas export facility on the Baltic Sea, located about 100 kilometers from St. Petersburg. The statement said there were no injuries.

Ukraine's General Staff confirmed the attacks on a liquefied natural gas terminal in Ust Luga.

Another Ukrainian attack damaged buildings on the Baltic island of Kotlin, home to a key naval base for Russia's Baltic Fleet.

The port in the Russian city of Vyborg, near the Finnish border, was also attacked, and an icebreaker belonging to the Russian border service was damaged.

Ukrainian attacks have caused power outages affecting about 450,000 people in and around the Russian city of Belgorod, near the border with Ukraine, Belgorod Region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said in a statement on Telegram.

Meanwhile, Russia continued to strike Ukraine overnight, with one woman killed in the attacks in Odessa. About 150,000 households in the northern Ukrainian city of Chernihiv and its surroundings were left without electricity, DPA notes.
