Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has arrived in Saudi Arabia, where he will hold "important meetings", he announced on the social network X.
"I have arrived in Saudi Arabia. Important meetings are ahead. We appreciate the support and support those who are ready to work with us to ensure security," the Ukrainian head of state wrote.
The visit comes against the backdrop of Riyadh's active diplomatic role in recent months. It was in Saudi Arabia that contacts and talks were held with the participation of representatives of Russia and the United States, in an attempt to find a diplomatic way out of the war in Ukraine.

However, the current situation in the Middle East calls into question Riyadh's ability to play the role of mediator. The escalation of tensions in the region and the direct involvement of a number of countries are changing Saudi Arabia's priorities and limiting the space for diplomatic mediation.
Against this backdrop, Zelensky's visit raises the question of what Kiev can offer to strengthen its position in relations with Riyadh. Among the possible areas is cooperation in the security sphere, including in the field of unmanned technologies and counter-drone systems, where Ukraine has gained significant practical experience during the war.
Official information on the specific topics of the talks has not been released, but the visit is seen as part of Kiev's efforts to expand its international support in the face of a complicated geopolitical situation.
