US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is convinced that the US will eventually regain control of the Strait of Hormuz, which is currently blocked by Iran, Bloomberg reports, quoted by Focus.
''The US will eventually regain control of the strait and freedom of navigation will be ensured - either with the help of a US escort or with the help of a multinational escort'', Bessent is categorical.
According to him, the world market is currently missing about 10-12 million barrels per day. The US is in control of the situation,'' the minister wondered.
He added that the coordinated release of strategic oil reserves, thanks to the decision of the International Energy Agency, brings about 4 million barrels per day to cover the deficit.
He also recalled the decision to lift sanctions on Russian and Iranian oil, which is already at sea, alleviates the situation on the world energy market.

Earlier, Donald Trump repeated his call for countries to help unblock the Strait of Hormuz and said that some of them were not interested in providing assistance.
