US President Donald Trump today called on countries that are not cooperating in the US-Israeli strikes against Iran to buy American oil or get their own crude through the Strait of Hormuz, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
Trump specifically named Britain and France as countries that are not helping the United States in the month-long war that has shaken world markets, led to a spike in energy prices and prompted Iran to block the movement of oil tankers through the strait.
„All these countries that cannot get jet fuel because of the Strait of Hormuz, such as the United Kingdom kingdom that refused to join in the beheading of Iran, I have a suggestion for you: first, buy from the US, we have plenty, and second, gather some belated courage, go to the Strait and just TAKE it,” Trump said in a post on his platform “Truth Social“.
“You will have to start learning how to fight on your own, the US will no longer be there to help you, just as you were not there for us. The hard part is over. Go get your own oil!“
He also criticized France for not allowing planes carrying military supplies to Israel to fly over its territory.
