The United Arab Emirates is preparing to help the US and other allies with force to open the Strait of Hormuz, The Wall Street Journal reports, citing US officials.
According to the newspaper, the UAE is pushing for a UN Security Council resolution authorizing such an operation.
The newspaper notes that this step would make the Emirates the first Persian Gulf state to join the military conflict since Iran began striking regional countries.
