Berlin reassures: Germany: There is enough jet fuel, but prices are rising due to the war with Iran - 1

Germany is not facing an immediate shortage of jet fuel, despite the tension on energy markets caused by the conflict in the Middle East. This was stated by Economy Minister Katharina Reiche during a trade fair in Hanover, reports "Reuters".

According to her, the country's refineries are adapting to increased demand, but the government continues to monitor the situation. The statement comes a day after a meeting of Germany's National Security Council, which discussed energy security and decided to create a special committee on the topic.

The war with Iran has caused the most serious disruption to global energy supplies to date, putting pressure on the ruling coalition and raising concerns about economic growth in Europe's largest economy.

European airlines and regulators warn that continued difficulties in supplies from the Middle East could lead to canceled flights, grounded planes and serious disruptions to the summer tourist season.

The European Union has already said that if necessary, a coordinated release of jet fuel reserves could be carried out to stabilize the market.

According to expert Joachim Lang, the main problem at the moment is not availability, but price. According to him, it has more than doubled since the beginning of the conflict, forcing companies to make serious adjustments to their plans.

"Right now we have a huge price problem rather than a supply problem," Lang stressed.
