The United States has imposed sanctions on a company operating a marine terminal in China for importing Iranian oil, State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott said.
According to a written statement released by the State Department, Qindao Haiye Oil Terminal Co. and its president are on the blacklist. The State Department claims that the company has “imported tens of millions of barrels of sanctioned Iranian crude“. This, according to the State Department, has allowed Tehran to generate “billions of dollars“.
In addition, according to the State Department, sanctions have been imposed on two shipping companies alleged to be involved in running the so-called shadow fleet of Iranian tankers. These are the UK-based Thriving Times International Co. and Hong Kong-based Onboard Ship Management Limited.
Also blacklisted is the Panamanian-flagged tanker New Fusion, operated by Thriving Times International Co.
