Vesselin Stoynev: PP-DB will not split. There is no serious reason for such actions at this moment

According to the journalist, it was no coincidence that Radev was recognized as the main alternative to the status quo and as a way out of the political crisis. The reason why PP-DB was not indicated by voters as such an alternative is that they are in constant conflict with each other. He also noted that this was also noticeable during the "assembly".

Vesselin Stoynev: PP-DB will not split. There is no serious reason for such actions at this moment - 1

PP-DB will not split. There is no serious reason for such actions at this moment, no matter how unbearable the situation between them is now. This was said by journalist Vesselin Stoynev on the air of “Denyat na Zievo” on NOVA NEWS

If we look at the ping-pong between "We Continue the Change" and "Yes, Bulgaria", and DSB in the middle, the PP's response by nominating one candidate for president is an attempt to undermine the offer of "Yes, Bulgaria", who said: "Let's conclude a coalition agreement". The PP said: "Let's unite in the form of nominating a common candidate for president. This is a mistake, because they have an agreement with the Forum for Democratic Action, which has been raising the initiative for a common candidate for president since last year. Both the PP and "Yes, Bulgaria" are in this process. They have no disputes about it. The question was how - whether through early elections, or in some other way. Now, the launch of Andrey Gyurov, who is a strong candidate, is rushing things and putting the PP and DB in this conflict. First, because Gyurov is still prime minister and will be so until mid-May. Secondly, because when you nominate such a candidate, who should gather many more voters outside the narrow party ones, and from the very beginning to brand him as a party candidate, is not a promising move. This limits him”, explained the journalist.
According to him, Gyurov can be nominated by an initiative committee, but he is previously framed as a party candidate, and this is not a good start. “He was used in this seditious act between the different wings in this coalition”, he emphasized.

Stoynev said that the serious problem in the PP-DB is that it needs to put together its own common face.

According to him, Radev was not accidentally recognized as the main alternative to the status quo and as a way out of the political crisis. The reason why the PP-DB is not indicated by voters as such an alternative is that they are in constant conflict with each other. He also noted that this was also noticeable during the “assembly”.

Stoynev also said that there are internal rivalries in the two formations because they are ideologically different – “some are more right-wing, with more conservative views on the budget, others are more left-wing”. But he added that there are also personality contradictions. He stressed that the two formations can work together and have shown this during the protests.

Regarding Rumen Radev, the journalist added that we are yet to learn the names of his deputies, because only a small part of them are publicly known. “The mentality of almost not speaking will continue in the government. Radev will be removed and this will make visibility difficult. But when you are in power and bear responsibility, you cannot help but answer specific questions,” he added.
