A leadership meeting between the parties in “Continuing the change - Democratic Bulgaria will be held“ on Wednesday, April 29 – after the meeting of the coalition's parliamentary group.
This was announced by the co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria“ Ivaylo Mirchev on the social network Facebook, after allegations of a split between the partners in parliament began to circulate in society.
“There is no refusal to hold such a meeting. We proposed to hold it tomorrow after the meeting of the PP-DB parliamentary group. We have clear decisions of our bodies for the unity of the parliamentary group and the signing of a coalition agreement“, wrote Mirchev, quoted by bTV.
Sparks in the ranks of the PP-DB appeared because of the preferences. The leader of the PP, Asen Vassilev, chose to enter the parliament from Plovdiv, leaving the previous MP from the DB, Manol Peykov, without a parliamentary seat.
There was also talk that the coalition partners could form two parliamentary groups in the 52nd National Assembly.
“We must be united, including in the parliament, because with the concentration of power, which is present for objective reasons, there needs to be a very strong pro-European and anti-corruption opposition“, Bozhidar Bozhanov, co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria“ told the media when asked whether two parliamentary groups would be formed in the parliament - one of “Yes, Bulgaria“ (DB) and one of “We continue the change“ (PP).
