There is no need for the Council of Ministers to approve the use of funds from the fiscal reserve to cover expenses in April. The reason - we reduced the state budget deficit for the month to zero. That is, we expect to fully cover the expenses with the revenues received from the state budget this month. This was said by the acting Minister of Finance Georgi Klisurski at a briefing after a meeting of the acting cabinet.
He explained that there is a difference compared to the previous two months - February and March. "In February, the last month in which the "Zhelyazkov" cabinet ruled - after just one week of the acting government, we had to adopt a decision to approve up to 900 million euros in resources from the fiscal reserve. It had to be used to cover the expenses that could not be covered," Klisurski explained.
Then - in March, a successful attempt was made to reduce this deficit. "Thus, the amount of 900 million euros became 600 million euros, which had to be used from the fiscal reserve. And I am happy that today, when we are already talking about the month of April, we do not need to use resources from the fiscal reserve at all. That is why we are not adopting such a decision at the meeting of the Council of Ministers," Klisurski emphasized.
He reminded that on April 30 the deadline for submitting annual tax returns of individuals expires. "I call on all citizens who have not yet done so to submit their returns," the Minister of Finance said.
According to him, the interim cabinet has also managed to limit unjustified expenses. "And we achieved everything without including these 1.4 billion euros from the BBR as documentary revenue. That is, to put it again - the funds that were taken from the BVR in the state budget do not help in any way to improve the deficit", reminded Klisurski.
