Pargov: The first task before the new cabinet is partial energy independence. That is, we continue the "Belene" project - 1

The "BSP" project has completed its historical mission, Kaloyan Pargov, former deputy chairman of the Centennial, head of the Strategic Institute for National Policies and Ideas, told the Bulgarian National Radio.

"We can expect a new program from the BSP, a change of name is also possible, reconfiguration, restructuring. We are starting a new period in the life of this organized socialist movement, the carrier of which is mainly this party. The Bulgarian Communist Party is completely different, with a different function.

All post-communist parties have disappeared in Europe. The BSP is the last. Populist and right-wing parties have taken their place. No one has an answer to what socialism is in the 21st century. But in our 52nd National Assembly there is no authentic left".

He outlined the profile of the person who would recognize the BSP as his representative after its restructuring is completed.

"With low to medium incomes, working, but a person who lives on credit".

As one of the problems facing Bulgaria, Pargov pointed to the outflow of capital. He outlined the main tasks that he believes are facing the new government.

"First of all - to ensure partial energy independence. That is, we continue the "Belene" project. We need to equalize the daytime and nighttime electricity tariffs. How can you equalize them? By introducing baseload capacity. The "Belene" NPP is base load.

In May we are finishing with the American plants. The Maritsa TPP remains. It must continue to operate, but not only on coal - a little coal and more gas.

Gas can come from Botash, Pargov explained on the 12+3 program.

"We have secured capacity, but we do not use it, but we pay for it. "Toplofikatsiya" uses one billion cubic meters of gas. "Bulgargaz" supplies them. Where does it buy them? From "Gazprom" or from intermediaries - Russian gas, but with a different label and 20-30% more expensive. In general, this is the number one task for four years".

As a second priority, the former deputy chairman of the Socialists highlighted ensuring food independence.

"This is an element of national security".

Creating justice is the third task before the new rulers, believes Pargov.

"Not just electing a new Supreme Judicial Council and saying: "These are more honest than the previous ones". Replacing Pesho with Gosho does not make a change. The thinking and way of working makes the change. Is the model bad and should be replaced with new people, or were the people in the model bad?!"

The BSP has a year and a half until its first test - the local elections, he explained.

"The second test will be the European elections".
