US President Donald Trump will make the conflict between Israel and Iran over Tehran's nuclear program one of the main topics of the NATO summit in The Hague, contrary to the event's initial agenda. This was reported by the American newspaper Politico, citing European and American representatives.

They note that the only main topic of the summit was supposed to be the issue of negotiating new mandatory requirements for NATO countries regarding their military spending and bringing it to 5% of the gross domestic product (GDP) of each country.

Now, after the American strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities and the declaration of a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, Trump intends to make the situation in the Middle East another main topic, focusing primarily on American successes. The US president will devote a significant portion of his press conference on the sidelines of the summit in The Hague to this issue.

The organizers of the meeting are making efforts to reduce the likelihood of a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky, the Washington Post reported.

It is specified that this is happening due to concerns that Trump will not be able to communicate calmly with Zelensky "because he despises him". In addition, the Ukrainian issue is expected to become secondary for the leaders of the alliance countries.
