When a citizen has the feeling that the law applies differently to different people, the problem is no longer only legal, but of the state and the entire society. This was stated by Prime Minister Rumen Radev during a press conference at the Council of Ministers, at which he presented the priorities of the cabinet in the field of justice.
The Prime Minister stated that judicial reform is a mandatory condition for our functioning as a normal democratic state.
„Judicial reform has turned from a national cause into a political slogan. After a series of controversial decisions, amendments to the amendments and ugly political incest, after the latest brutal blow to the Constitution, judicial reform has become a symbol of political indifference. We are seeing the result more and more, and this is crushed cases and impunity for robbery“, explained Prime Minister Radev.
He also emphasized that one of the biggest problems of the administration of justice in our country is the slow judicial system, the lack of trust in judicial institutions and, above all, the lack of justice.
“A country cannot be prosperous if it cannot give faith that it can provide justice to its citizens. We have good prosecutors, judges and investigators who honorably fulfill their duties, but the problem is systemic. That is why from “Progressive Bulgaria“ "we propose a comprehensive, systematic approach, centered on the person," the Prime Minister added.
“We will propose to return the powers of the president so that he can elect a caretaker government, otherwise this leads to deformed results“, Radev said.
The Prime Minister promised that the judicial reform will represent a transition from a conjunctural reaction and fragmented initiatives to a unified national plan, with a clear vision, a clear program and clear political responsibility and accountability.
